The programmable laser trainer was designed to help students practice programming skills on an interesting real life product. This system uses a laser to create words/pictures on a surface.

Using a laser diode I am able to create a high intensity pixel on the wall which will be visible from appropriate distances.
Using a galvo I am able to manipulate the location of the laser pixel on the wall. The galvo is controlled by two high precision "motors" which are controlled by simple voltages.
A microcontroller will be able to control both the laser and the galvo at high speeds. The high speed is essential to this project because it is what makes the image on the wall a solid image to the human eye.
